Current Dataloggers
Current dataloggers record current over time, either through a shunt, a clamp or a dedicated current input, which is how you find intermittent loads and quantify energy use.
Keysight, Monarch, MadgeTech, Hioki and Keithley cover this range. The first question is the signal: logging a 4-20 mA process loop is a different task from logging AC load current on a feeder or measuring microamp sleep current on a battery-powered design. Resolution and burden voltage matter greatly in the last case, since a logger that drops significant voltage across its shunt changes the circuit it is measuring. Confirm logging interval, memory depth and how data is exported.
