Current Probes
Current probes let an oscilloscope display current as a waveform, which is how switching losses, inrush and gate drive behaviour become visible rather than inferred.
Keysight, Tektronix and Teledyne LeCroy cover this range. Two technologies serve different needs. AC-only current transformers are simple, passive and inexpensive, but cannot show a DC component. Hall effect and hybrid AC/DC probes measure down to DC and are what most power electronics work requires, at the cost of needing a power supply and periodic degaussing. Check the peak current rating rather than only the continuous rating, since inrush will saturate an undersized probe and flatten exactly the event you are trying to see.
The Keysight N7026A High-Sensitivity Current Probe measures AC/DC currents from 1 mA to 40 A with 150 MHz bandwidth and 300 V rating. Its compact 5 mm jaw and 1.5 m cable offer flexibility for tight spaces and high-voltage applications.
