LCR test fixtures and accessories connect a component to an impedance analyzer with a defined, repeatable contact, which at these measurement levels is as important as the meter itself.

The reason a fixture matters is that lead inductance and stray capacitance are comparable to the values being measured, so a component held in crocodile clips gives a number that describes the wiring as much as the part. Four-terminal Kelvin fixtures remove lead resistance, and guarded fixtures reduce stray coupling. Match the fixture to your analyzer model and to the component package, whether axial, radial, SMD or chip, and confirm the frequency limit.
