Process Instruments
Process instruments measure, transmit, display and control the variables running through a plant: flow, pressure, level and temperature. This section groups flowmeters, transmitters, transducers, switches, controllers, communicators and field enclosures.
Dwyer Instruments covers much of the differential pressure, flow and switch range. Panametrics contributes ultrasonic and moisture measurement, Great Plains Industries covers mechanical and digital flow metering for fuel and chemical transfer, and Ralston covers pressure connection and pump accessories. Two constraints usually narrow the choice quickly. The first is the medium, since a flowmeter suitable for clean water will not survive slurry, aggressive chemicals or high-viscosity oil. The second is the output you need, because a local indicator, a 4-20 mA transmitter and a digital protocol device solve very different integration problems. Tell us the medium, the line size and the signal your control system expects.
