The parameters that matter beyond the headline wind reading are whether the unit computes derived values such as wind chill, heat stress index, density altitude and dew point, since those are usually the numbers a decision actually depends on. Confirm whether logging and wireless data transfer are needed, and check the impeller is user-replaceable, as that is the part most likely to be damaged in field use.
