RTDs Resistance Temperature Detectors
Resistance temperature detectors measure temperature through the predictable change in resistance of a platinum element, and are the sensor of choice where accuracy matters.
Additel supplies this range. Four-wire connection removes lead resistance from the measurement and is what calibration work requires, while three-wire compensates approximately and suits process indication. Pt100 is the common standard, with Pt1000 offering better signal for long lead runs. Match the sheath diameter and length to your thermowell, and ensure sufficient immersion depth, since stem conduction error from a shallow installation will exceed the sensor tolerance. Confirm the tolerance class you need.
The Additel AM1762-20-SP is a secondary standard platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) with a 25 ohm nominal resistance, designed for precise temperature measurement from -200 to 670 °C. Ideal for calibration laboratories and industrial applications, this RTD offers high accuracy and stability, traceable to NIST.
