Dial Thermometers
Dial thermometers give a direct mechanical temperature reading with no power source, using a bimetallic coil or gas-filled bulb to drive the pointer.
Dwyer Instruments, Noshok and Fluke Calibration cover this range. Because there is nothing to fail electrically they remain standard on tanks, pipework and HVAC plant. Specify the stem length so the sensing portion sits fully in the medium, since insufficient immersion is the most common cause of a dial thermometer reading low. Confirm the connection and whether you need a thermowell, which allows removal without breaking process containment. Every-angle and adjustable-angle heads are worth specifying where the dial must be readable from a walkway.
The Dwyer Instruments BTO540121 Series BTO Bimetal Thermometer with Transmitter Output combines temperature measurement and signal transmission in one device, reducing installation costs and saving space. Ideal for power generating boilers, skid mounted compressors, and thermal oxidation systems, it features a 4-inch stem and a 50-400°F range.
