Crane scales hang between a lifting point and the load, weighing anything a hoist can pick up without needing a platform underneath.

Adam Equipment and CAS cover this range. Capacity should include a safety margin over the heaviest expected load, and the shackle and hook rating must match, since the weakest link governs. Readability is coarser than a platform scale by nature, because the load swings and the reading has to settle. A remote display or radio link is worth having, as reading a display suspended above head height is impractical. Confirm the tare and hold functions you need.
