Digital pressure gauges replace an analog dial with a sensor and display, adding a documented accuracy statement, a stable reading and in most cases datalogging.

Accuracy here is quoted either as a percentage of full scale or a percentage of reading, and the distinction is significant: a 0.05 percent full-scale instrument on a 1000 psi range carries the same absolute uncertainty at 100 psi as at 900 psi, while a percentage-of-reading specification scales down with the measurement. Choose the range so normal operation sits in the middle of the span. Also confirm the wetted material and process connection, since oxygen service, hydraulic oil and corrosive media each restrict the options, and check whether you need an intrinsically safe or explosion-proof rating for the area classification.
