Gaussmeters
Gaussmeters measure magnetic flux density, for checking permanent magnets, verifying magnetic field strength around equipment and locating stray fields.
FW Bell supplies this range. Probe choice determines the measurement: transverse probes are thin and fit into gaps such as a magnet assembly, while axial probes measure along their length and suit solenoids and bores. Confirm whether you need DC field measurement, AC, or both, since Hall effect probes read static fields while coil-based sensors respond only to changing ones. Resolution and range should suit the field you expect, and remember that probe orientation relative to the field direction affects every reading.
The FW Bell 8030 is a precision gaussmeter featuring a TFT color LCD, three channels, and automatic probe coefficient correction. It supports multiple units and interfaces, making it ideal for industrial and laboratory magnetic field measurements.
The FW Bell 5180 is a precision handheld gaussmeter featuring DSP technology for best-in-class accuracy. With a USB interface, transverse probe, and 20-hour battery life, it’s ideal for industrial testing and calibration applications.
